STUDIO VISIT
Studio Visit is a digital video series by Complex that invites audiences into the personal creative spaces of musicians, visual artists, designers, and culture-makers. Each episode captures the intimate connection between artist and environment, blending interview, visual documentary, and atmosphere-driven storytelling.
My goal as the lead motion and editorial designer was to craft a visual identity that felt personal, immersive, and rooted in the artist’s creative world—a look that elevated the content without overpowering it.
My Role
For this series, I served as Lead Designer and Animator, responsible for:
Developing the visual brand system for the show (logo treatment, color language, motion direction)
Designing and animating opening sequences, lower-thirds, transitions, and title cards
Creating platform-specific assets for YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, and promotional reels
Collaborating with the video team to align pacing, tone, and layout
Creative Process & Tools
My process was:
Toolkit Creation
I designed modular templates for After Effects & Adobe Premiere—including customizable transitions, texture overlays, and kinetic typography styles—to allow quick iteration while maintaining polish.Final Assembly
Each motion package was tailored to reflect the artist’s energy, whether that meant dreamy slow fades or gritty, rapid-cut collages.Handoff
I created a templated package delivery for use in After Effects and Adobe Premiere. This ensures that video editors have everything they need for a smooth plug-and-play experience, saving time whenever a new episode is produced.
