For Complex’s coverage of the Academy Awards, I led the art direction for how the brand would show up across social in real time, creating a visual system that moved beyond standard award-show recap graphics and felt distinctly native to Complex’s bold, editorial voice. Instead of relying on templated winner cards, I developed a modular design language inspired by magazine layouts and broadcast graphics, built around strong typographic hierarchy, image-led compositions, and a repeatable grid that allowed the team to react quickly to live moments without sacrificing craft. This system scaled across winner announcements, red carpet highlights, and cultural reactions throughout the night, making each post feel like part of a cohesive visual narrative rather than isolated graphics. The result was the highest-performing Oscars coverage Complex has produced to date, proving how thoughtful art direction and consistent design can elevate real-time social content into a branded editorial experience.

SIDE QUEST BRAND IDENTITY

SIDEQUEST is a conceptual identity for a gamified urban exploration brand that transforms everyday cities into playable maps. Inspired by navigation systems, wayfinding graphics, and open-world game mechanics, the visual identity blends bold typography with subtle GPS-inspired details to create a modern cultural brand system. The project explores how motion, signage, apparel, and digital experiences can encourage people to discover hidden places, complete real-world “missions,” and reconnect with their city through exploration.

CULTURE CHECK BRAND IDENTITY

“Culture Check” is a conceptual brand identity created for a modern pop culture YouTube show covering music, entertainment, fashion, and internet culture. The visual system combines bold editorial typography with a raw checkmark icon to create a brand that feels energetic, recognizable, and social-first. Designed for digital media, the project included logo variations, social assets, merchandise applications, and platform mockups built to thrive across YouTube, TikTok, and modern creator culture.
